About BBC Club
BBC Club was founded in 1924 as a private members club. It has been a part of BBC Life for over 90 years. Today the Club is the heart of social unity within the BBC.
All BBC and BBC partners staff can enjoy a wealth of services ranging from working up a sweat to the pursuit of a life long interest; as a place to meet friends or to work up the next big idea. Members benefit from discounted rates in our Clubs and on our services as well as a plethora of additional online benefits and high street deals. We also have a private lottery, exclusive member only events, plus much much more!

- If you work for one of the BBC’s partners
- If you are a partner or family member of a BBC Club member

Sherry and Port

About
Our May tasting is a return to Port and Sherry, whether consumed neat or in a light cocktail, these fortified wines have a place at most times of the day. Maybe not first thing in the morning but, saying that, who’s for a dash of Gentleman’s Relish with a crisp Fino? Sherry: Aperitif, digestive or pudding wine, dry, medium or sweet.
Sherry is now a truly multigenerational drink, over ice at a party, or a glass with the local vicar or your investment advisor. Light Fino, aged Olorosso or Palo Cortado, or a rich PX, the choice is yours. Even the archetypal Harvey’s Bristol Cream is as popular as ever.
Port: Times have moved on from Port and Lemon in an East End pub, or a glass in a smoke filled room accompanied by a Romeo y Julieta Churchill cigar. France has the highest consumption of Port wine in the world, at 25%, but you are more likely to drink it as an appetitive rather than an after dinner drink.
Please join the AWBS for a tasting of the many different styles of these fortified wines.
