Wines of Uruguay
About
Following February's very interesting Brazilian wine tasting our March tasting heads south, not too far away though, to Uruguay. Squeezed between Argentina and Brazil, Uruguay is South America's 4th largest producer of wine. The modern wine industry in Uruguay dates back to 1870, started by immigrants of mainly Spanish and Italian origin. There are a number of specialist companies focussing on wines from Uruguay and we will be sourcing our wines from them.
