About
With a winemaking history dating back to the 17th century, South Africa has emerged as a prominent wine-producing country. It’s diverse terroirs, influenced by the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, result in a wide array of wine styles. Please join the AWBS as we sample a varied selection of South African wines, including a range of grape varieties, alcohol concentrations and different regions. The styles include delicate rosés, young oaked Chenin’s, Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and some interesting blends. A few producers are well-known, while others are less familiar. This Tasting will be presented by Dr Bernard Lamb of the National Guild of Wine and Beer Judges.
