"The best foreign beers come from Belgium". That used to be the mantra until a few years ago. But recently there has been an explosion in the art of 'artisanal' brewing around the world. There are now hundreds of small producers who all have a passion for their product and who do not spend a disproportional amount of money on advertising. There is much effort put into developing new beers to suit the season. Variety is ensured by selecting different malts, hops and yeasts to ensure there is something to suit all tastes. In the North of France alone there are now hundreds of different beers available. It is no longer necessary to cross the border with Belgium to enjoy a good, interesting beer. We have a selection of some of these beers and you are invited to try them in the convivial surroundings of the BBC Club where you are sure to find one that you like. By the way, the average ABV is around 7%, so don't expect to drink pints! Cheers!
