Rambling Club - Battersea Power Station to Fulham Palace

BBC Club Connect Logo
Rambling Thames
About
A linear walk of around 8.4 km (5.2 miles) starting at the iconic Battersea Power Station, through the beautiful Battersea Park and along the Thames and surrounding streets to visit the Spit/Causeway nature reserve at the mouth of the River Wandle. The Spit is a tidal terrace bisected by a wooden boardwalk where you can see Sophie Horton’s public art, Sail (2003). From there we continue along the Thames path into grade II listed Wandsworth Park walking under the avenue of London planes, before leaving the park to head towards Putney Bridge. We will pass St Mary's Church - site of the Putney debates - before crossing over the bridge to Bishops Park and Fulham Palace, where the walk ends, close to Putney Bridge Underground Station (District Line, Zone 2), at around 13.30. At Fulham Palace you can celebrate the orchard harvest at the annual Apple Day celebration.
