Canal cruising is fun and easy to learn. Narrowboat life is friendly too - we like to think of the canal network as a linear village surrounded by flowers and trees, wildlife and of course plenty of pretty pubs along the way! 'It's as if your whole life slows down and you forget all about the city life'. Why not hire the narrowboat during the year and take friends and family as crew?
Hire period: Saturday to Saturday. To allow for correct cleaning the boat must be returned by 9am. There is mooring available if guests prefer to return on Friday night.
Just hiring for the weekend, if free, is available as a late bookings only. A 5% discount is applicable if 2 or more consecutive weeks are booked. Bookings for 2026 are now open. The first week of the 2026 season where the boat is available to hire is 7th March 2026. The ‘Closed’ season where the boat is not available starts in November 2026.
Facilities
Our narrowboat is 61 feet long. ‘Savoy Hill’ sleeps 7 people in 3 separate cabins which can be configured as single or double berths. It has two flush toilets and a shower and is fully equipped with a microwave, conventional cooker, fridge, and central heating. The boat has LED lighting throughout, USB charging sockets, two televisions with built in DVD players and extra storage.
Bedding and towels are included. There is also a kitchen pack included with the basic for washing up and tidying the kitchen area (bin liner, washing-up liquid, wash-ups etc.).
Hirer’s need to contact the marina before they arrive to let them know the bed configuration that they want to use so that the marina can provide the correct bed linen.
