    Film Club

    Lights, camera, ACTION!

    Activities

You don't have to be a movie buff to join the Film Club. You will be able to watch a selection of recent cinema releases for free in a private luxury professional preview theatre in the West End. You will have the opportunity to take part in our DV training productions to learn basic film-making techniques and work on short film projects. Plus you will have access to equipment at cheap hire rates to make your own films.

    Screenings

We screen approx 26 films a year, usually on Wednesday evenings, at a private luxury professional preview theatre just a short walk from Oxford Circus. All films are screened from 35mm prints (no DVDs) and we aim to show a mixture of mainstream, indie and occasional foreign films. All films are recent releases and if you like movies you will save a fortune by joining the Film Club. All films are FREE to Film Club members and members can bring guests for £3.

    Equipment

If you are a filmmaker and want to make your own short films, we have a range of film-making equipment for hire at very competitive rates (from 8mm to DV cameras, from lights to walkie-talkies) plus Non-linear Adobe Premiere edit suite. Equipment can be hired on a daily or weekend rate.

    Training

We run DV production training weekends to learn basic film-making techniques and work on short film projects which cost around £20. These are small groups which are intended for beginners to get them started in film making and for those with some film making skills to gain experience and help those starting out.

    Film Quiz Nights

Our Film Quiz nights are usually held in the Television Centre Bar and take place every couple of months. They are open to both members and non members.
