The PopMaster’s Producer
About
After almost 25 years at the BBC, Radio 2’s Assistant Producer Janine Maya-Smith has worked across multiple Radio shows and some of Radio 2’s biggest events from Buckingham Palace to Hyde Park and beyond, as well as working with some of the most familiar names in the business from Jonathon Ross, Steve Wright and Chris Evans to Jools Holland, Liza Tarbuck and everyone in between.
Over the years there’s been plenty of ‘moments’ - losing an artist minutes before they’re due on stage, an unfortunate incident with Elton John, trying to wrangle the Jackson’s off stage and accompanying Amy Winehouse to a chip shop in Wales to name but a few - Many people question.. how on earth she’s still getting away with it!
Currently she keeps Ken Bruce company Monday to Friday and tries to keep Europe’s biggest music Quiz PopMaster on track. So, If you have ever wondered what it’s like in day to day Radio production, or if you’re keen to find out what’s involved with a large scale productions and events do come along & find out more!
